At Kentucky Carnivorous Plants Conservation & Restoration, we’re proud to offer a unique educational experience designed to enhance intellectual growth and promote participatory engagement. Take a look through our site to learn more about us.
Providing opportunities to actively participate in the research process helps provide greater public understanding of the role of conservation and the natural ecosystems of our communities. Providing hands on learning about the plant ecology of some rare and unusual species helps garner respect and stewardship of future Kentucky generations.
With successful science communication and public engagement our group will promote project visibility in the community, organize events (like community inventory of local parks), planting workshops, and network with relevant regional and global authorities. Field collection is considered unethical, if not illegal. So many of these incredible and interesting plants are available to study through horticultural, botanical interests, and nursery propagation. With our group we will have the opportunity to study the plants & learn conservation and restoration initiatives.
